The book Serbain Myth about Jasenovac is a systematic analysis of the book written by the Belgrade “expert” for war casualties, Dr Milan Bulajić, entitled “Jasenovac Myth” of Franjo Tuđman – Genocide against Serbs, Jews and Gypsies. By using the method of responding to a book by a book, Pečarić presents 18 chapters the titles of which are identical to the titles of Bulajić’s chapters,which is evident by his use of quotation marks. He added the original sketches from Nedić’s press from 1941
entitled “Provocateurs at Work”.
Academician Josip Pečarić noticed that Bulajić is currently Belgrade’s most prominent “authority on genocide”. The books that he writes and the quasi-scientific conferences that he organises in foreign countries serve the purpose of Greater Serbian ideology. Bulajić justifies
his political goals with a systematic falsification of the historical truth about the Jasenovac concentration camp
and the role of the Catholic Church. With a detailed analysis of the book “Jasenovac Myth” of Franjo Tuđman, Pečarić succeeded in proving that Bulajić’s views, which are the result of the “collective thought” of Serbian modern historiography, are largely based on
mythologizing and various manipulation of historical documents: Pečarić corroborates this by using available
sources and literature, often presenting Serbian sources.Pečarić’s insight is not new to Croatian history, but the
volume of presented materials, which successfully uncover Bulajić’s falsifications, reflects the wealth of his book.
